DAVID LEEDHAM

David Leedham is Real Estate Partner for City Law Firm, Speechly Bircham. David leads on the sustainability agenda, advising on pioneering energy and carbon issues and the effect of new legislation on buildings and Real Estate transactions. David is at the forefront of legislative reform in this field, and is a member of the highly respected and influential Aldersgate Group. The Aldersgate Group engages actively with government and other key decision makers in contributing to the future development of UK economic, environment and sectoral policies.

David advises clients on acquisitions of high-profile, new-build office, industrial and retail sites and advises on development sites for future development, subsequent pre-lets and disposal. He also advises operators (including leisure operators) on corporate and asset acquisitions/disposals and renewable energy companies on transactions for installation and operation of extensive plant and equipment on sites.

JON LOVELL

Jon Lovell is Head of Sustainability at property consultants Drivers Jonas LLP (DJ) and leads the firm-wide sustainability sector group, drawing together expertise from across the firm to integrate sustainable development across its portfolio of property, development and built environment services. Jon is widely recognised as a leading player on the sustainability agenda within the property sector and led  DJ to the inaugural Estates Gazette Green Property Advisor of the Year Award, and was recently awarded the Insider Young Sustainability Professional of the Year accolade.

He is currently Chair of the Sustainability Panel of the Managing Partners Forum, a global network of professional services firms. He is also a member of the British Property Federation Sustainability Committee and represents DJ on the Aldersgate Group, a broad coalition of environmental agencies, NGOs, think tanks and industry representatives who believe that high environmental standards will be a major part of future economic growth and international competitiveness.

MILES KEEPING

Miles Keeping is Head of Sustainability at GVA Grimley. He assists public and private sector clients with sustainable property decision-making and is actively involved with UK GBC, IPF & BCO sustainability groups. Miles is a Chartered Surveyor and a Chartered Environmentalist. He has published widely and is a frequent speaker on sustainability topics.

JULIE HIRIGOYEN

Julie Hirigoyen, Director in Jones Lang LaSalle's Professional and Advisory Services team is responsible for managing Upstream Sustainability Services and developing sustainability strategies and environmental management solutions for a wide range of commercial and residential property investors in the UK and Continental Europe. She is a senior Client Relationship Manager (CRM) with extensive experience of embedding sustainability within all stages of the property process, and advising at Board level on the business risks and opportunities associated with environmental, social and economic factors.

ALISON HENRY

Alison manages the production of EG’s editorial supplements and the magazine’s sector reports, including editing the quarterly EG Residential report and the annual shopping centre sector publication, Centre Retailing. More awareness of environmental issues are now crucial in these markets and Alison is well placed to report, having her interest sparked while studying towards her BArch at the University of Auckland.

 ANN HEYWOOD PhD BSc (Hons) FRICS FRGS MCMI

Ann is Principal of the College of Estate Management, the leading distance learning provider for the property and construction sector, with 4000 students in 80 countries, worldwide. She was previously in private practice and was elected Green Surveyor of the year by the RICS in 1998 for her work in balancing the competing environmental, land use and financial needs of land portfolios. Ann chaired the RICS Presidential Commission on Sustainability (2004-2007), with a mission to increase sustainability awareness and good practice throughout the 140,000 members of the Institution, worldwide.
